Paolo Scoppola

Inspired by an earlier work by Valentina Moar, Built To Last is a dance solo on the theme of bodily memory. Fragility, insecurity and loss of consciousness characterize the first scenes of the performance. This fall is followed by the will to regain dignity, one's self, through the physical memory of the body, which dominates and guides the mind in search of itself. The interactions in this project move on multiple levels: on the one hand, the dancer's body interacts with the screen, where images generated by the video performer emphasize the movements and vitality of Valentina Moar's dance. On the other, double bass player and musician Reinhard Ziegerhofer improvises while observing the scene and sends sound signals to Paolo Scoppola's console, which transforms them into other visual interactions.
